Ed Klein : Hillary Wants To Run Again In 2020
If thirty years of Hillary Clinton being on the national stage were not enough for you, don’t fret, because the rumors are churning that she may be considering running for president in 2020.
This according to investigative journalist and author Ed Klein, who claims to have gleaned this information from a source close to Hillary.
“She’s sure the voters will beg her to get in the race and she says, ‘I’m going to run again in 2020.'”
The source also allegedly told Klein that Clinton is hoping that the American people will “come to their senses” over the election of Donald Trump, and feel some sort of voter’s remorse.
While it’s still possible that Hillary might choose to run again, and it’s always fun to speculate, even on the basis of unnamed sources, the probability of the former Secretary of State making the decision this early in the game are slim for a few reasons.
First and foremost, Clinton suffered an embarrassing defeat for the second time in 8 years.
In 2008, she was competing for the Democratic Party nomination against a former community organizing junior senator with no executive experience.
Barack Obama was boasting no serious accomplishments, and much of his past, including school records and papers, were under lock and key.
Yet the powerful Clinton political machine was not enough to secure the party’s nomination, and Barack Obama was able to go on to secure the Oval Office twice.
When the opportunity presented itself again, Hillary Clinton was presumably the anointed candidate for the Democratic Party nomination, yet she almost couldn’t seem to defeat a 75-year-old self-described Socialist, even with the help of the DNC working on her behalf.
When it came time for the general election, Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump, a man with no political experience, who was considered a Washington outsider.
Even with the collusion of the Mainstream Media, Clinton could not garner enough Electoral college votes that would put her in the Oval Office.
At this point in time, team Clinton should be licking their wounds, and it would make little sense to believe that they are gearing up, and getting ready for a 2020 run.
As most politicians would do in their place, we could expect that the Clinton campaign will probably send out “feelers” in a couple years, just to test the waters, to estimate what a 2020 political landscape would look like.
If the nation is on the right track at that time, and Donald Trump is an amazing president, we could expect that the chance of Hillary running is slim.
If, however, Trump turns out to be a disaster, the nation may find that they are not as finished with Hillary Clinton as they thought they were in 2016.
What do you think? Can you see Hillary running in 2020?
