Poll: Will You Watch Less NFL Games In 2017 If Players Continue To Disrespect The National Anthem

Colin Kaepernick

For the second year in a row, the National Football League has been a platform for social justice warriors who have gained national attention for disrespecting the American Flag, the United States and the men and women who serve as police officers.

Colin Kaepernick began the trend when he decided to take a seat, during a pregame National Anthem, while those around him were standing respectfully, facing the flag.

When asked why he chose to protest the National Anthem, Kaepernick told NFL News,

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color…”

We should pause right here to mention that, at the time of making these comments, Kaepernick was being paid millions of dollars to professionally play a children’s game. That’s what an oppressive country the United States is.

But let us not digress. He continues,

“…To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.

There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

Though Kaepernic currently remains unemployed, unable to get picked up by any NFL franchise, his legacy of disrespecting the United States and the American Flag lives on throughout the NFL as players on several teams have decided to take a knee rather than stand for the Anthem.

The practice has even spread throughout America to the next generation.

According to the Blazean entire football team of 8-year-olds, in Illinois, took a knee to protest the National Anthem after getting permission from their coach.

As the National Anthem protests have grown within the NFL, the league’s ratings have noticeably dropped. The source of the decrease in viewers has been highly debated, but it cannot be argued that the focus on multi-millionaire players, protesting how oppressed they are, has turned many people off.

What do you think about all of this?

Will you watch less NFL games in 2017 if players continue to disrespect the National Anthem?
