Taylor Swift Wants To Build A Wall As Long As It’s Here

Superstar Taylor Swift is adding a few additions to her Beverly Hills mansion, according to a report by TMZ, including a 6.5 foot cinder block wall near her front porch and a 7 foot tall retaining wall near her tennis courts.

Swift needed to obtain special permission from the city to erect these walls because of the fact that her mansion is considered to be a historical landmark.

Taylor Swift is one of the few A-list celebrities who keeps her political opinions close to the vest, though pundits on both sides of the political aisle have tried attributing support for or against political figures based solely on the lyrics of her songs.

Swifts seems to have figured out that, by becoming an activist for a political party, she would likely alienate herself from half of the country.

But the renovation on her residence raises a really important question:

“Why do celebrities and politicians need walls around their properties when they stand so firmly against the idea of building a wall along the southern border of the United States?”

We shouldn’t give Swift any grief on this account because she has not been an outspoken critic of the proposed wall, but other celebrities have not been so restrained.

After the 2017 Manchester terrorist attack, pop-singer Katy Perry proposed a sort of open-borders solution to make the world a safer place,

“I think that the greatest thing we could do is just unite and love on each other, and like, no barriers, no borders, like, we all need to just co-exist.”

Katy Perry’s home happens to be protected by walls and armed security details.

Social media users immediately took to the Internet to blast her hypocrisy,

This is not to suggest that celebrities and politicians should not do what they can to protect their property, because they should.

It is, however, meant to point out that these same individuals, who are constantly arguing that it’s racist or unfair to have a southern border wall, are erecting barriers and walls around themselves to keep the “riff-raff” out.

President Donald Trump has been called a xenophobic white supremacist for wanting to secure the nation’s borders by the very people that feel they need to erect walls to secure their own things.

The Democrats even erected a four mile fence around their 2016 National Convention in Philadelphia, but former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said, of Trump’s proposed border wall,

The president, I think, talking about this wall, is expressing a sign of weakness. He is saying I can’t control our borders, I have to build a wall. We would certainly like to — we have a responsibility to control our borders but building a wall is not an answer. Not here or anyplace.”

The truth of the matter is, though Democrats will never admit this to the general public, that the Left is okay with illegal immigration because illegal aliens overwhelmingly support the Democrat Party.
